Cheesy Egg Toast

In Breakfast, Dinner, Lunch, Snack.

This is another recipe that your kids can enjoy and even help make

This can fit any meal plan that you are on, I’m leaning out so if I can make it I’m sure so many more of you can as well

This fits a Carb/Protein meal as well as Carb/Protein/Fat

I subbed my oats for 2 slices of bread, 2 egg whites for Lifetime fat free cheddar cheese

Ingredients:

·       Sliced bread

·       Eggs/Egg whites; 1 egg per slice of bread

·       Shredded cheese

·       Salt & Pepper; to taste

·       Nonstick spray OR butter if you have fat in your plan

Directions:

1.       Preheat oven to 350° (OR I’ve seen it where you place in toaster oven and toast for 10min); foil line an oven proof pan and light coat with nonstick spray

2.       Use the back of a spoon to flatten the middle of the bread, leaving a little bit of space between the “well” and the crust.

3.       Lightly spray with nonstick spray (I used butter flavored), if using butter lightly butter the EDGES going around the “well”. Sprinkle the entire slice with salt and pepper, if using. **prepare this on the foil lined pan**

4.       Crack a single egg or egg white into the well, repeat if you have more than 1 slice

5.       Sprinkle the ‘buttered’ edges with your cheese. If baking bake for 10-15 minutes, making sure the egg is cooked through and the cheese isn’t burnt. Ovens vary in temps, I baked mine for 15min. If toasting in your toaster oven go for 10min
